PRACTICE EXPERIENCE
Mr. Moran has been with the firm since 1978. His practice is concentrated in the commercial areas of banking, real estate, corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies. Mr. Moran has also represented a number of public utilities.
For nearly 30 years, Mr. Moran has served as primary counsel to First Bank, an Alaska commercial bank serving the Southeastern Alaska Panhandle. For the same length of time, he has represented Wells Fargo (formerly known as National Bank of Alaska) on loan documentation and loan collection projects involving both commercial and residential transactions. He has also represented Northrim Bank with respect to documenting commercial loans and account matters and Key Bank of Alaska on a number of loan documentation and workout projects. Mr. Moran also serves as counsel to Alaska Growth Capital (Bidco), Inc., which is a subsidiary of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation, formed for the purpose of providing venture capital and financing to newly formed business entities in the State of Alaska. Mr. Moran also represents Harland Financial Services in the State of Alaska, which provides computerized commercial and consumer loan documentation programs nationwide. In addition, Mr. Moran currently represents a variety of secondary market residential lenders including Great Western Savings, Countrywide Financing, Quality Mortgage, Standard Mortgage Investors, LLC, B&C Mortgage, Inc., Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation, National Mortgage Corporation, Chrysler Financial, General Electric Capital Corporation, Liberty Lending Services, Inc., GE Capital Financial Corporation, Merrill Lynch Credit Corporation, Midland Loan Services, MNBA America Bank and Residential Funding Corporation on matters involving real estate secured loans.
Mr. Moran has provided legal counsel to a variety of clients, from title agencies to large shopping center property managers to commercial lenders. As a result of representing these clients, he has gained a wide range of experience in real estate secured transactions, lien law and title insurance coverage and foreclosure matters. In addition, he has experience in a wide range of issues related to retail and commercial lease and property management transactions.
Through representing Alaska's largest Native corporation, Mr. Moran has developed considerable experience in negotiating and documenting the purchase and sale of business entities and the formation and operation of a number of operating entities, including corporations and limited liability companies.
Mr. Moran represents Arctic Slope Telephone Association Cooperative, Inc., a cooperative telephone company which provides local, long distance, cellular and internet services across the Alaska Arctic. He has been involved in the formation of a consortium that purchased all of the GTE Alaska Telephone properties in the State of Alaska. He has represented the largest regulated refuse company in Alaska. He has been active in the Alaska Telephone Association for over 20 years. Recently, Mr. Moran was selected as one of The Best Lawyers in America in the area of corporate law.
