PRACTICE EXPERIENCE
Ms. Ryman's practice experience includes litigation, general commercial and business matters, employment, maritime, and health care law. She works closely with Alaskan, U.S., and international businesses within the recreation and tourism industry. She serves as legal counsel to both small and large businesses and organizations, and is an experienced trial attorney having defended recreation-based businesses against contract, employment and tort claims. She also practices in the area of maritime law and has defended marine vessel owners against employment and seamen's personal injury claims. Ms. Ryman has handled civil cases before state and federal courts in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Kodiak, Palmer, Seattle and San Francisco.
In addition to her general civil practice, Ms. Ryman counsels private and public entities on recreational risk management issues. She is a frequent presenter and lecturer on the topic of liabilities affecting recreation, education and tourism organizations.
When not practicing law, Ms. Ryman enjoys hiking, backpacking, trail running, backcountry skiing, surfing, and kayaking. She is a resident of Lake Clark and enjoys sharing these pursuits (except surfing, of course) in Lake Clark National Park and throughout Alaska with her husband and daughters.
